The Chung Group of Exposomics (https://www.jakechunggroup.org) is seeking a talented full-time member (research associate/postdoctoral fellow/research assistant) who is interested in chemical exposomics and determined to conduct foundational work with high-resolution mass spectrometry. The project focuses on developing new and optimizing existing analytical methods to “sequence” the exposome using a range of environmental and biological samples. Candidates without a PhD degree could have an opportunity to pursue a PhD degree at CUHK while conducting the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1) Perform mass spectrometry-based development and optimization of biochemical analysis methods, e.g., affinity-based enrichment, activity metabolomics
- 2) Collaborate with the team and external investigators on projects fulfilling the exposome vision of the group.
- 3) Conduct literature reviews

- 5) Manage and maintain day-to-day activities in the laboratory.
- 6) Lead and produce high-quality research outputs, including peer-reviewed articles and presentations for academic and non-academic audiences.
Qualifications:
- 1) Candidates should hold a PhD or MPhil/MS degree in analytical chemistry, chemical biology, environmental sciences, environmental health, or related fields.
- 2) Demonstrated experience in analyzing chemicals in various environmental media and/or biological fluids using liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) is essential.
- 3) Strong interest in chemical exposomics.
- 4) Possess effective communication, organization, and time management skills.
- 5) Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English.
Preferred qualifications:
- 1) Candidates with strong technical expertise and experience in conducting suspect screening analysis (SSA) or untargeted metabolomics with Orbitrap LC-MS would have an advantage.
